FSW Step 23 - Receive COPR + Visa

After you send your passport (and your family's) to a Visa Application Center (VAC), they will stamp it with your visa, and mail it back to you.

This visa is not your Permanent Residency yet. But it allows you to travel to Canada only once, to do your landing. So, you have gree-light to pack and go :)

In addition to the visa on the passport, you (and every family member) will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residency (COPR), that you will need to take with you on the travel.

The COPR has an expiration date, so make sure you use it before it expires.

With these documents in hand, (visa + COPR), you can travel to Canada, but only once. When you land there, the immigration officer (at the airport) will grant you Permanent Resident status (yep, that's awesome!), and you will get your PR card on the mail (on your Canadian address). With that card you can leave and enter Canada as many times as you'd like, among with other perks (which you probably know about by now).
