Every document you upload to your Express Entry application needs to be in one of these formats:
Also, each document has to be smaller than 4MB.
I've been using this free app called CamScanner, which has been very useful to scan files. Here is how it works:
Download the app
Click on the "Scan Button":
Scan the document using your camera:
Send it to yourself using the "share" feature (through e-mail, for an example):
Once you have your documents on PDF format, you might need to reduce the size of the files, if they are bigger than 4MB.
One easy way of doing it is to use PDF2GO. It is an online free service. This is how it works:
Drag and drop your PDF to the red area:
Choose basic or strong compression, based on how much you need to compress it.
If you really need a lot of compression, an additional option is to remove the colors, by selecting this option:
Click "Start". It will automatically reduce your file and download the small version of it.
When submitting documents to your Express Entry application, sometimes you might need to merge two documents into a single one.
For an example, let's say your bank didn't provide all the required items on the Proof of Funds letter, and you want to explain why, or attach more evidence about a specific point of it.
In that case, you can write a letter of explanation, or get the extra evidence, and attach it to the same document.
This is how you do it:
Drop the files you want to merge there on the drop area:
Change the order of the pages, if needed, and click on "Merge PDF".
If the merged file is bigger than 4MB, go ahead and reduce it using the instructions detailed above on this article.
